Internship

Citizens of Seychelles who are graduates of medical and dental schools overseas may follow a structured internship  programme in Seychelles.

The internship is undertaken at Seychelles Hospital under the supervision of Consultants in Charge in that Hospital and under the administration of SMDC.

Interns do four months of internal medicine, four months of surgery, four months of paediatics, four months of obstetrics and gynaecology and four months of emergency medicine. The last month to complete the mandatory two years is open for the interns to be attached to any speciality (ies) of their choice.

SMDC awards the intern with a certificate of completion of internship following successful completion of the two year internship period.
