About SMDC

The Seychelles Medical and Dental Council (SMDC) is a body corporate created by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act, 1994.

SMDC exists to

  1. register and licence medical practitioners and dentists
  2. regulate their professional conduct
  3. facilitate their continuous medical and dental education and  professional development
  4. receive complaints from the public regarding doctors and dentists

The work of the Council involves interaction with a wide range of stakeholders

SMDC functions in the interests of the public, the integrity of the medical and dental professions and in the interest of optimal health care quality in Seychelles.

The offices of SMDC are currently located in Appartment No 6, on the third floor of the Ciotat Building at Mont Fleuri, Mahe, Seychelles.
